My mum's birthday!

Well, the end of the month today.. the year is zipping by fast! will be Xmas again before we know it! Today is my mum's birthday. I'm going with my son who's home on uni break and his friend, to take my mum to lunch and her friend Roy will also join us. Don't know where we're going yet.. Mum's choice since it's her special day!
Wherever we go I'll have to remember not to order anything that will interfere with my Rotary bowel scan test that Paul and I are starting tomorrow.. for understandable reasons you can't eat any red meat or rare meat two days prior to collecting yr samples ( hee hee) but for more unclear reasons you can't eat broccoli, cauliflower, radishes, horseradish and various other things... have you ever done this test? It's pretty cool being able to have access to all this stuff in this good country... for $8 you collect samples from three consecutive bowel movements and send them off to the lab and they tell you whether or not any occult blood is present.... pretty basic and far from exhaustive testing but nevertheless some sort of proof that at least you are not bleeding profusely in places you shouldn't be!!! Anyway at the risk of giving too much information.. Paul can more or less finish his collecting in one day, but I will take at least a couple to complete mine!!!! ehehehehehheeh!
Bit of a cloudy and cool change in the weather from yesterday. I took off early to walk the dogs and saw my little pigeon friend again. Was hoping to feel up to a short run today but I hurt from head to toe after Pump on Monday night. After not going for over two weeks I used the same weights I usually choose, probably not advisable but I'm a glutton for punishment and consequently every single muscle in my body is pinging! I couldn't even raise my arm high to give someone a wave at the golf course!! Maybe this evening....have a good day everyone and be nice to your mother!!!

Hi and welcome to my brand new blog! I'm Michelle AKA Oilymils, a nickname given to me by by son-in-law cos he reckons everything I like to eat and everything I cook is full of oil ( or butter or cream....) and that even the milk I use is oily hence the name Oilymils. "Mils" is the nickname we give to "milk" , we play funny games like that... another example of this re-naming is we say "mees" for "meat" and "bees" for "beer".. silly, I know but a little bit of silliness never hurt anyone!!
I'm going to write about anything and everything on these pages.... just like keeping a diary which I have always done anyway.... the only difference is now someone else can see it! I like to use Facebook but my son informs me that I write way too much on there, hence I'm going to start using this blog instead. Then if anyone wants to read they can visit, but their Facebook homepage won't be filled up with my numerous posts!! So hi again and thanks for dropping by!
